FIRE DRILLS
A fire drill is a method of practicing the evacuation procedures in the event of a fire or other emergencies.
Its purpose is to ensure that everyone knows how to exit the building safely and as quickly as possible if a fire, smoke, carbon monoxide or other emergency occurs. People need to recognize the sound of the fire alarm.
There are several steps that must be made to properly conduct fire drills:
-
notifying occupants about fire drills in advance,
-
notifying the fire department,
-
notifying the monitoring company,
-
operating fire alarm system and voice communication system,
-
documenting the fire drills.
The frequency of fire drills depends on the occupancy of the building and its height.
